At the ballpark, the Dublin fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Boof
Bonser(3-5) finally bested his Dublin opposite, Dontrelle Willis(1-12), by
the score of 3 to 1.
St. Paul jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runners on
2 hits. That was all the runs Bonser needed. Dublin had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
Francisco Cordero earned the save, his 10th. Willis suffered the loss. He
gave up 7 hits and 5 walks in 7 and 1/3 innings. Adam Smith was reflective
after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we just made one too many
mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more white hairs on this noggin
of mine.'
